Michael P. Mullen, CPA

Practicing public accounting since 1983. Founder and Principal owner of my Certified Public Accounting firm in Minnesota since 1994. Specializing in Community Associations and various nonprofit organizations. Perform independent audits and reviews; prepare corporate income tax returns; offer recommendations for operational enhancement and development of stronger internal controls to better safeguard our client’s assets.

Former shareholder of a Florida CPA firm which also exclusively served condominiums, homeowner associations, timeshares and rental
properties.

Extensive knowledge of the Minnesota Common Interest Ownership Act, the law governing community associations.
Author of several articles concerning the Minnesota Common Interest Ownership Act that were published in professional journals and client newsletters.

Conducted numerous educational seminars on accounting rules and tax laws relative to community associations.

Instructor for Conviser Duffy, national CPA Exam review courses.
Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota.

Adjunct professor of accounting for ten years; teaching principles,
intermediate, advanced, fund, cost and tax accounting courses at colleges in Indiana and Florida.

 

Michele Schnitker, Housing Supervisor
City of St. Louis Park

Michele Schnitker has worked in the housing industry for almost 30 years. In her current position as the Housing Supervisor/Ass’t Community Development Director for the City of St. Louis Park, she oversees all housing initiatives for the City including Public Housing, Section 8, CDBG, housing rehab and housing development. Previously held positions include Director of Resident Services at St. Paul PHA and Public Housing Director at Dakota County CDA. She is a graduate of the University of MN’s Housing Program.

 

Peter J. Santangelo, CMCA, President
Community Advantage & Management Advantage

Mr. Santangelo has more than 22 years of banking experience in consumer, commercial, and portfolio management.

Prior to joining Community Advantage, Mr. Santangelo managed commercial lending relationships at several large corporate banks. He was responsible for generating bank deposits, investment and cash management products, providing construction, bridge and interim loans, as well as various types of consumer credit, equity and small business lending loans. Mr. Santangelo also has experience training new personnel in an underwriting unit and was the liaison for installment lending, interfacing with other bank branches.

Mr. Santangelo is a Certified Manager of Community Associations® (CMCA) by the National Board of Certification for Community Associations Managers. He joins many CMCAs nationwide who have mastered the fundamental knowledge to manage condominium, cooperative and homeowners associations. Mr. Santangelo was the 2008 President of Community Associations Institute Illinois chapter and currently serves as a director (until 2010).
