This is a half-day workshop for Association Leaders, Homeowners & Professionals. Tom Engblom (CA Banc) & Michael Roche (Waldman Engineering Consultants) will facilitate the course.

Tom Engblom began in Real Estate in 1984 as a licensed real estate broker/instructor in Illinois for (20) twenty years and university professor at numerous colleges/universities during the same period. Since 2004 Tom has taught as a National Instructor for Community Associations Institute including assisting in rewriting several of the PDMP course materials. Furthermore, Tom served on the National Business Council for Community Associations Institute.
Tom began a second career in 2004 as an Association Banker for Mutual of Omaha Bank. Mutual of Omaha awarded Tom Engblom with the company’s prestigious Pillar Award – an honor given annually to the bank’s top 10 performers nationwide. Tom is a regional account executive for Mutual of Omaha Bank’s Community Association Banking group who demonstrated outstanding performance in 2011. Tom was one of 10 individuals honored out of nearly 1,000 bank employees nationwide. Pillar Award recipients undergo a vigorous nomination process that evaluates performance, leadership and a demonstrated commitment to Mutual of Omaha Bank’s purpose and core values. Performance is measured by production goals, demonstrated exceptional service and contribution to a positive work environment, among other criteria.
Tom has earned Certified Property Manager (CPM) from the Institute of Real Estate Management and Professional Community Association Manager from Community Associations Institute (PCAM).
Tom is currently President of CAI Illinois ranked as the 3rd largest Chapter in CAI. Tom is currently completing his Doctorate in Business Administration with the Dissertation dedicated to Association Management.
Mike Roche is a 1998 graduate of the University of Illinois with a Bachelor/s degree in Accountancy. He worked for seven (7) years as a public accountant, obtaining licensure with the State of Illinois as a Certified Public Accountant in 2001. Mike prepared financial statements tax returns and other required filings for small to medium sized companies as well as training new accounting staff for clients.
In 2007, Mike began his career in the real estate field as a property manager and real estate agent. For six (6) years, Mike managed condominium, townhome and homeowners associations and for three (3) years as a residential and commercial real estate agent, being recognized in the “Million Dollar Sales Club” in his first year as an agent. Mike earned his Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) certification in 2012 from the Community Association Institute.
Mike has presented at various trade shows and forums through Community Association Institute and the Association of Condominium, Townhome and Homeowners Associations since 2008. He is currently the Vice President of Operations for Waldman Engineering Consultants, which provides property inspection services, plan of repair development, reserve studies and energy evaluations to communities
