Newer board members will particularly benefit from this class because it is based on practical knowledge and skills gained by the Community Associations Institute (CAI) which is the largest and oldest educational organization in the association field. The class will cover the special nature of condominiums and townhome associations as well as the duties and responsibilities of community association volunteer leaders (CAVL).

  • How to successfully capitalize on the established laws, codes of conduct, and generally-accepted business practices as guidelines.
  • How to provide required services for -- and coordination with -- the unit owners such as the financial, property-upkeep, two-way communications, and voting programs.
  • What board members should do to protect themselves and their association from losing any legal challenges.

Speaker Information

Gene Sullivan is host of the popular radio show “Where You Live” on Saturday mornings at 10 o’clock on WWTC, 1280 AM. He is active in the metro area community-association industry and is a past president of the Minnesota chapter of the Community Associations Institute (CAI).
