Hellmuth & Johnson Attorney, Blake Nelson, Receives “40 Under Forty” Honor

Blake Nelson, an attorney with the Eden Prairie law firm of Hellmuth & Johnson, was selected as one of the “40 Under Forty” by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal for 2009. This award honors 40 professionals under 40 years of age for their leadership and business accomplishments. Nelson was recognized from a very competitive field of hundreds of nominees.

Nelson is a lawyer, real estate investor, and entrepreneur, as well as a business leader serving on the board of governors at Hellmuth & Johnson. He is chair of the firm’s Construction Law Group and focuses his practice on construction law and litigation, real estate law and litigation, general corporate representation, business succession planning, and creditor’s remedies.

“I am pleased to be honored as one of the 40 Under Forty. This award is especially meaningful because it reinforces the importance of leadership, entrepreneurial vision, and creativity in business,” says Nelson. Managing Partner Chad Johnson says of Nelson, “He is able to walk in his clients’ shoes. With his diverse background, he has been there and done that, which gives him a unique perspective in providing strategies to save clients time and money. They turn to him as a trusted legal and business advisor. We are proud of his accomplishments and this is an honor well deserved.”

Nelson received his J.D. magna cum laude from William Mitchell College of Law and graduated cum laude from Gustavus Adolphus College with a B.A. in English and Political Science. He is an MSBA Board Certified Real Property Law Specialist, and holds Martindale-Hubbell’s highest rating, AV Peer Review. In addition, he has been recognized as a “Super Lawyer” for the past eight years. Nelson also serves on the Board of Directors for Minnesota Bank & Trust.

To celebrate this achievement, Nelson is sharing “40 ideas for continued business success,” at
