The work of the MN-LAC costs tens of thousands of dollars each year; your participation is vital to our continued success.  If every association established a policy of an annual contribution to MN-LAC equal to $1.00 for every home in their association, it would ensure that this necessary and important effort is in place when needed to protect interests and rights of everyone who lives in an HOA.

The Minnesota Legislative Action Committee (MN-LAC) is a volunteer committee of the Community Associations Institute (CAI) consisting of homeowners and professionals serving HOAs.  It is the largest and oldest organization in America dedicated solely to monitoring legislation, educating elected state lawmakers, and protecting the interests of those living in associations in Minnesota.

The mission of the MN-LAC is to safeguard and improve the community association lifestyle and their property values by advocating a reasonable balance between state statutory requirements and the ability and authority of each individual homeowner to govern themselves through their community associations.  In order to accomplish this mission, we need the contributions of volunteers around the state.

How does MN-LAC accomplish its goals?

  • Alerts us to important pending legislation
  • Reviews and takes positions on all legislative bills affecting homeowner associations.
  • Employs veteran lobbyist Nick de Julio (from Ewald) to stand watch at the Capitol while the legislature is in session, and helps connect us to key influential people during this process.
  • Makes visits to legislators in their districts to continue to educate them about who we are and where we stand on various issues.
  • Organizes “grass-roots” efforts to communicate with legislators en masse on topics that are particularly important to community associations.
  • Establishes MN-LAC as a resource for legislators when considering legislation related to community associations.

$1.00 = 1 door in your association.
